Help build a greater Cleveland as a Public Service Fellow

Launched in 2016, the Cleveland Foundation Public Service Fellowship immerses talented, emerging leaders from across the country in the work of Cleveland’s public sector, providing them an opportunity to develop their skills, enhance their networks, and jumpstart a career in public service.

The City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Foundation have just announced a partnership that will place a cohort of the foundation’s 2022-23 Public Service Fellows at City Hall to assist with Mayor Justin M. Bibb’s administration. You can read more about this partnership here. The deadline to apply has been extended to March 7, 2022.

What does the Cuyahoga County nonprofit sector need to thrive post-COVID?

Are you a nonprofit leader in Cuyahoga County? The Funders Collaborative on Covid Recovery (FCCR) has launched the COVID-19 Recovery and Nonprofit Resiliency Survey and is requesting your participation! As funders, we seek to better understand the needs, opportunities, and makeup of our grantee partners and the nonprofit sector and together will use the results to build resilience, advance equity, and best serve our community’s needs.

Prizes: To thank you for your time, organizations that complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win one of 13 cash prizes between $1,000 and $5,000.

Who should respond? We are asking all nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations in Cuyahoga County to complete the survey.

Deadline: This survey is open through Feb. 18, 2022.

Chat Pals program keeps older adults socially connected

Social connection is one of the fundamental factors effecting health and wellbeing. Older adults are especially at risk for social isolation, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only made it more difficult for many older adults to stay socially connected. To combat social isolation in our community, Greater Cleveland Volunteers has launched Chat Pals, a new program - free of cost to participants - that links a background-checked, trained volunteer to an older adult with a weekly video or phone check-in call. To learn more about volunteering or being matched with a volunteer caller, or if you know someone who may benefit from this program, please contact Kirsten Riley via (216) 391-9500 x 2124 or kriley@greaterclevelandvolunteers.org.
